Tai Chi was created based on the law of nature, where everything is composed of the polar opposites of the feminine Yin (soft, nighttime, darkness) and the masculine Yang (hard, daytime, light). But while they are opposite, they are also equal and complementary to each other.  When Yin and Yang are well-balanced, everything is in harmony. 

The same applies with people: when a person is in harmony, he will be healthier and happier. Based on this law of nature, Tai Chi exercises both the mind (so you become calmer, more serene) and the body (exercising the organs, muscles, ligaments, bones to make your body work better).

The integration of body and mind helps to balance the internal and the external, leading to harmony within yourself.
